cPanel provides some very useful tools to analyze the bandwidth usage of your website.

A)Basic Bandwidth analysis using cPanel "Bandwidth" interface

B)Detailed Bandwidth analysis using Awstats.

Basic Bandwidth analysis using the cPanel "Bandwidth" interface

1. Log into cPanel

2. Click on Bandwidth under Metrics

This interface will give you an idea about which service uses the most bandwidth.  You can also see graphs depicting  bandwidth usage in the last 24 hours, weeks, and months.

Detailed Bandwidth analysis using Awstats.

1. Log into cPanel

2. Click on Awstats under Metrics

This interface shows a detailed analysis of the website's monthly, weekly, and daily bandwidth usage. Some of the stats worth looking into are Top 25 Hosts, Robots/Spiders visitors, and File type.

Top hosts will give you an idea of who used most of the bandwidth.

Robots and spiders section will give you an idea of whether there were any bot attacks on the website.

File Type Section will give you an idea about what type of file consumed most of the bandwidth. For example, if you see mp4 type file uses most of the bandwidth, you can conclude that a large video file on the website is causing the spike in Bandwith usage. Similarly, if it is jpg or png, you can conclude that some large images on the website used lots of bandwidth. You can then take remedies such as hosting the video on a video hosting platform such as Youtube or optimizing the large images to reduce bandwidth usage.
